Sage sticks is ann ancient spiritual ritual of burning sage, also known as “smudging,” was used to clear negative energy. White sage helps activate certain receptors in the brain that are responsible for elevating mood levels, reducing stress, and alleviating pain.
You can smudge regularly with white sage to enhance your spiritual cleansing and invite positive energy. It is an ancient practice, especially important to Native American tribes. They believe that burning sage would provide protection from evil.

Hold the sage stick in your hand and light it; some people believe in burning the sage stick to create a direct flame, but even a smoulder is enough. Once your sage stick starts to emit smoke, take it around your home: Starting from the front door and moving clockwise, guide the smoke such that it reaches every corner.
When we smudge, we first cleanse our hands with the smoke as if we were washing our hands. We then draw the smoke over our heads, eyes, ears, mouths, and our bodies. These actions remind us to think good thoughts, see good actions, hear good sounds, speak good words, and show the good of who we are.
